About us

Relevance to practice and quality

MQ was founded in 1985 by members of the Zurich Medical Association. In 1995, MQ was officially recognised by QUALAB as a provider of interlaboratory tests in the field of medical laboratories in Switzerland.

Since 2002, the association's quality control centre has been accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service (sas.admin.ch) as a provider of proficiency tests (EQA) in accordance with the ISO 17043 standard and currently offers 144 different EQA schemes.

The association is managed by a board of directors composed of practising physicians and specialists FAMH from various disciplines of laboratory medicine. This guarantees both the practical relevance and the quality of the interlaboratory tests.
